"Beyond The Field" by Hasson Cantarero Hernandez

The grass is wet from the sprinklers getting

the field ready for the game.

From the center of the field you can see both

goal nets ready to be defended by opposing teams.

The wind blows across a player's face.

It brings to the nose the sent of grass and

sweaty jerseys.

From the field you can hear fans chanting

And cars honking their horns as they pass by

You can hear the loud thump of the soccer ball

being kicked across the field.

You can see the cross bar vibrate after the ball

Violently smashes into it.

From the field players observe the love and

hate the fans give.

You can feel the nervousness, pressure, obligation

and the motivation to win.

Your body chills as soon as the first kick is taken.

And the fans roar in excitement because the game has

begun.

The body grows tired but the sense of love, desire, and

Motivation drives you to push harder.

The first, second, and third goal drop in the net and the

final whistle blows, the game is won.

Happiness, excitement, and accomplishment fills the

body, it’s a great feeling but you don’t know how to react

So you just smile and stare in awe.

As you leave the field, you receive chills and turn around

Instantly you re-live everything that just went down and smile.

Eyes fill up with joy and your mouth move to bring into

reality the words:

“This is my home”

“They're On The Front Lines, So You Can Enjoy Your TikTok Times” by Jasmine Wren

Out there every day saving lives From little children to husbands and wives, Out there on the front lines,  Just trying to push through these hard times. New graduates running straight to hospital  Providing services that are vital, Young and old each taking a turn, Working so long, till their eyes burn Some are mothers and fathers  Hoping they don't endanger their sons and daughter Fearful for their lives and others  Standing up to ignorant protesters Bruises all around their face  Yet they still work another case Grateful for all they do  Constantly working to save me and you
